History
The mission of the Churchland Basketball Association BSBL is to provide a safe environment where youth can safely learn & develop life skills obtained through athletic practice and competition.
Our history is for over 40 years old CBA BSBL has been providing a recreational basketball outlet for youth in the Churchland area of Portsmouth. This league was established when there were no options for youth basketball in the area. Thousands of youth have started, mat, ured, and developed skills along with lifelong friendships and athletic memories under our recreational program. We feel our stable presence is deeply needed. Our world presents many obstacles for our youth to try to overcome. CBA will continue to provide a safe and inspirational outlet for our youth channel and exercise positive energy through their tenure at CBA.
Being part of a sports team teaches the value of looking out for developing players show confidence, trust, and respect for authorities and teammates. It helps bring out creativity and problem-solving skills and teaches team building and creativity while working to boost self-esteem. Playing sports can help children positively control their emotions while channeling negative feelings. It also helps them develop patience and understanding can take a lot of practice to improve both their physical skills and what they do in school. The ability to learn the fundamental techniques, skills, and behaviors to help them become positive young adults in our communities.
Our volunteers continue to push our league throughout the decades. We could overcome and pivot when necessary for our youth. We would not have a foundation to build on without them. Even more importantly, we would have no one to serve without you. We appreciate you very much for choosing Churchland Basketball Association BSBL.
Our goal is to continue to deliver a safe environment for the betterment of our youth. Organizing community events to help those in need. Staying a positive impact community program. Relationship building and Fundraising our way toward our multipurpose facility so we can expose our youth to all the other needed knowledge beyond sports to strive towards and fulfill life with purpose and passion.
